Slowly surely, we're coming back. Today my face feels like suede instead of sandpaper. My thin patch on the left is filling in as well, I discovered several newly mature hairs sprouting up there. I also discovered that my hairline is receding, which most men would believe to be a major bummer but not me, as, DHT causes thinning head hair, but ironically it also promotes thicker beard growth. SWEET!!!

I decided for the sake of myself, as well as my girlfriend, who has to occasionally be seen in public with me, to shave off the mutton chops and start over. Shown is all that's left of my lovely, lovely beard ... With one poor decision and several strokes with a razor my first beard was reduced to a "jazz dot". What a bummer man, what a bummer. Let this be a lesson to you guys, there's a very, very good reason why mutton chops went out of style! I shaved down with a beard trimmer, that way I'd not be starting over from scratch. I'll be resuming my plan to grow a nice, full short boxed beard only this time, the only trimming I'll be doing is on the neck line. I will say this, I definitely like my face a lot better with a beard than without one. I'm not happy with the way I look right now at all, but I'm resting assured knowing that I'll start looking better in a week or so. My face looks like a frozen Thanksgiving turkey right now, ACK!!! I'll keep posting pictures for as long as you guys are. Notice the Kenny on the left, he is handsome, virile and confident. Then notice the Kenny on the right, he's sad, emasculated, depressed.

... still just a bit patchy on the left-hand side, but it's filling in, you probably won't even be able to tell in another week or so. So far as growing is concerned, I've been taking my vitamins, shampooing it every other day and using conditioner every day. Plus, I've been drinking plenty of water, washing my face with a nice, mild hypo-allergenic soap every morning, and in the evening I've been massaging jojoba oil into my cheeks and chin, to keep the itch away.

I can't really tell yet how this might turn out, I have some patchy spots near my mouth. Hopefully they'll fill in, but if they don't, I recon I have enough on the sides for a sweet pair of mutton chops. Mutton chops might go better with my sweet pompadour hairdo than a full beard anyway. Maybe.

As we move through the Sweetbeard process I'm so far just working on base growth so I have somewhere to work with. Seeing that I started a day late I've got roughly 36 hours worth of stubble so far, and we'll move forward from there. Starting to wonder based on my growth pattern if I shouldn't go for another beard style, but we'll see.
